Abstract:

Wojtyla’s „Don’t Be Afraid“ in the Spectrum of Authentic Search for Freedom, Truth and Culture of Life outside the truth is not freedom but slavery and abuse of the human potential to act good. A spoken word and an act done is a powerful tool in the process of seeking the truth or negating it. Modern European civilization has distinct roots which are growing mainly from the Christianity of both Western and Eastern tradition. Man is, by its genuine nature, called upon not to be afraid of absurdities and ideologies, which block his healthy self-realization. Communism, fascism or various forms of pseudodemocracies in the last century are the example. Karol Wojtyla shows how to fight them and bring life to the true knowledge and eternal happiness. With the words Habemus Papam in October 1978 a new hope and chance is coming up again to find a way of searching for the meaning of life and the potential of true values.
