Abstract:

We still consider as necessary to point to poets who, despite the crime of totalitarianism and the dubious priorities of time, remained active. Life attitude and poetry of the poet Ján Motulko (1920 – 2013) are an example. This poet and a prominent photographer was unique not only in terms of the formal qualities of his verses, but also in his unambiguous loyalty to the philosophical and spiritual legacy of the best that created poetry in 20th century. He is still an underestimated personality in the Slovak literature – his cadre profile did not meet the requirements of the reality after February 1948.
